We also deliver materials for larger jobs, including timber, hardware, and landscaping supplies, making sure builders and tradies have what they need, when they need it. For more specialised jobs, we offer key cutting, colour matching, and other tailored services to suit each customer’s needs.
With a true small-town, country feel, we take the time to get to know our customers—greeting them by name and understanding their projects. Whether it’s a quick fix or a big build, we’re here to help, offering the kind of friendly, personal service that keeps our community coming back.
Murphy’s Mitre 10 has been a trusted name in hardware since Des Murphy opened his first store in Ivanhoe. Over the years, the business expanded, joining the Mitre 10 group in the 1980s, with stores in Wattle Park, Croydon, and Ringwood, originally focused on hardware only. In 2001, Paul and Julie Murphy relocated the store to Monbulk, where they saw the perfect opportunity to expand into timber alongside hardware, better serving the needs of the local community.
Their five children grew up working in the store during school holidays, serving customers at the registers and bagging bird seed—learning firsthand the value of hard work and great service. After Paul’s passing in 2013, Julie, along with their children Patrick and Laura, continues to lead the business with the same dedication.
With recent renovations and a refreshed trade centre, Murphy’s Mitre 10 remains committed to providing great service, quality products, and strong community support. Loyal customers are at the heart of everything the business does, and the team takes pride in giving back to local schools, clubs, and organizations.”
