A little bit about self:

Born and Bred in the Hills, Father of 5, operating a self employed local business. Enjoys exploring remote and regional Australia. Values and appreciates the beautiful environment and community of the Hills and Ranges.

What OFCFNC means to me:

OFCFNC brings value, purpose and connection to so many people in our community through the medium of Football & Netball.

Melanie Thomas-Ellis

A little bit about self:

I grew up off the mountain and came to OFCFNC in 2010 when a family friend started playing up here. I’ve loved it ever since. Even though I’ve spent time living in the city, Sydney and London, I’ve always come back to the club.

I’m now a mum to one human baby and one 50kg Bernese Mountain Dog baby.

I love running, playing netty, hanging with Dot & my husband Ash and generally just being outdoors.

What OFCFNC means to me:

Being around the club for nearly 15 years, it’s really shaped me as a person. From the leadership and accountability you feeling captaining a side, to the character building moments from having 100 goals losses in the pouring rain, to meeting my best friends who would later become my bridesmaids. The bonds you make from participating in team sport and being around a club like OFCFNC are so special.

A little bit about self:

Originally from Sydney, I moved to Melbourne 15 years ago and resided in The Hills. I have had involvement with the local kinda, school and sporting clubs ever since.

I love planning, creating and running functions. I enjoy the friendships built through volunteering and the satisfaction of helping raise funds to support clubs.

I enjoy travel, spending time with my husband and two very active step kids.

What OFCFNC means to me: OFCFNC provides purpose and a sense of family to me and the club has a community feel.

Mera Pringle

A little bit about self: 

Played Netball for Olinda since 2020, after playing juniors for Sassafras Ferny Creek and Mountain District NA. Coached D grade in 2024 and have umpired for Olinda since 2021

What OFCFNC means to me:

Best club in the business. People are amazing and it’s a great culture to be apart of. Plus they run pretty good social functions.

Simon Gilson

A little bit about self:

Lived in the hills for 18 years with Kylie, Ruby and Maeve (once she got here!) and have never looked back to city life! Trained and worked as an architect for many years but these days I have a small consultancy in the construction industry. I’m really motivated by technical challenges and this is what also drives my love of sport, motorsport, fishing, music and tinkering in the shed.

What OFCFNC means to me:

OFCFNC provides a supportive, healthy community across all ages and backgrounds. This provides an environment to challenge, grow and improve, both on and off the field; mentoring and helping develop resilience in our younger people whilst also providing social connection and long-lasting friendships.

Dana Millwood

A little bit about self:

I’ve been playing netball at Olinda for over 10 years. I met my wonderful husband, Tom, at Olinda and we welcomed our little Kiah in 2023. Outside of netball and family life, I love being social and spending time with my horse.

What OFCFNC means to me:

Olinda means so much to me. I wouldn’t have my wonderful family if it wasn’t for this beautiful community.
